Pechory Varvara Church

Setos have their own church in Pechory: the small wooden Varvara Church, which is dedicated to the martyr St. Barbara. Her remembrance day, 17 December, is celebrated in the church. The church, which was built in 1779, is located directly across from the monastery. Varvara Church is led by Father Jevgeni, who understands the Seto language very well, so one can hear the Seto language spoken in the church to this day.
